Wait, so the hood doesn’t need to be in the actual tank or just depends?

From my image, does my UVB need to be in the tank?
The screen on that tank is it a wide hole? Or fine mesh?

Would it be too close to the basking spot?

I have a sliding screen mesh top-

I can‘t cut into it because it will crack I believe.

Is it possible to use velcro (etc) and stick it to the back of the glass?

This is stressing me out and I need a solution.

Does the top of your tank look like this? A split top sliding screen lid?

No, just a full screen that slides off.
So securing the uvb to the upside of the screen isn't really possible without removing it every time you open the tank to feed your dragon, clean your tank, etc... you can't open your lid if the light is secured to the inside of the tank

I'm understanding what you mean and why it's a bit of dilemma.

The only things I could suggest would be to use a much more powerful UVB light that is strong enough to penetrate the screen.

Or to make some sort of custom bracket that hooks onto the edge of the tank but is bent so it will mount the lamp inside the tank.

Or buy a different tank like a Zen 4x2x2 which has it's doors on the front and has a screen lid you can secure the light to.

So you can’t punch holes in the screen, put the zipties around the hood, ziptie it, and make a hole for the cord?

So then when you slide the screen, it would just be zip tied to the screen?

I’m sorry, just trying to find the easiest way.

If you have one large sliding screen lid and not a two-piece like the one I pictured before, mounting the UVB light to the inside of the screen is going to make it very difficult to open your tank.

A tank with sliding front doors or a tank with a two-piece screen LED would make this problem much easier to solve.

I saved up for a while and ultimately bought this tank here:

Helped to solve my problem with properly placing my UVB lamp fixture.

Hi,

I’ve heard a UVB tube needs to be inside of the bearded dragon tank.

How do I strap it (or whatever you wanna call it) in there?

My tank is opened from above oFYI.
I use 15lb command strips. Attach to the tank and back of the light.

From what I have heard uvb Can be outside 9f the tank provided its not a glass lid as uvb can not pass through glass. So you should be fine.
