    Bioactive Friends....Thermostat Recommendations?

Awesome, I was looking at the Herpstat 600W because I like the sunrise and sunset feature thats what originally brought me to it. Just wanted to make sure that it was a good one. I just got the Bio Dude Hygrometer which is very nice and relatively accurate. I just dont like the the lights on...

    Bioactive Friends....Thermostat Recommendations?

What do you recommend? Do they turn the heat source on/off as needed? Does it do a proper job of proper readings (I also have a temp gun to take temps)? Let me know your thoughts.... Thanks, Mike&Blu

    Blu's Introduction

Awesome will definitely do that! I will switch to misting every other day or every two...and yes she has already had her fun running through the plants prior to going into brumation so hoping they will root and grabbed tightly while she is asleep and waiting on more cactus and succulents to come...

    I need help!!!!!

You're welcome...I feel like cutting those holes into the top could look pretty cool cause itll just sit there but if you want inside then definitely try to get something sturdy to go along the top and tie to

    I need help!!!!!

I'm no craftsman or anything but couldnt you trace the size of the light to put it on top and make it a little bigger than the trace so that way the light will sit on top and shine through and be nice and snug? Or if you were going to zip tie or something along those lines then maybe put a bar...

    UVB Lighting

Basking temp is 108 currently...and it’s 100W and 150W so I’ll change the 100 to 160 then remove the 150 and put in a T5...and I’ll be getting a temp gun as I heard those are very good

    UVB Lighting

So the bulb in the back corner is my basking spot and the one on the left towards the middle is my 100W Powersun...I was going to put both of those in a dual fixture in the back corner above the grapevine

    UVB Lighting

My Powersun is 100W but I ordered the 160W and that comes in tomorrow. And yes my CHE is only on at night. I was thinking of doing my Powersun and Basking in a dual fixture and then put a T5 strip on as well

    UVB Lighting

So I have seen a bunch of different discussions and opinions in various groups about BD UVB lighting...I like using the Powersun Bulbs because they give of UVB and heat so its two in one ( I also use a basking light and CHE (at night)) but I know a lot of people say to use T5 UVB Strip...

    Blu's Introduction

Awesome! Thank you I’ve had people at my reptile store tell me that they shouldn’t be brumating in captivity cause it’s a temperature issue but my basking is 110 and rest of viv is 90 with a cool side of 85-90ish so I mean I figured it was just her instincts but wanted to see what everyone here...

    Blu's Introduction

From my research the viv does the majority of the maintaining. I have isopods (Spanish orange, powder orange and a mix of 4 kinds) in there and getting springtails tomorrow and they do the cleaning and maintain the soil for me. Sure I’ll be cleaning up a little and I have to mist it daily and...
