Weather being the main culprit. For me, things grown in greenhouses don't taste the same. All my herbs are grown outside. For alot of those, I need wooded areas where organics and virgin soil exist to grow the best. I dry some for winter use, but they do lose some of their umfffff.
These guys are everywhere around here. Mostly in pecans but will get in any fruit or nut bearing tree.
I have a feeling that mulberry's aren't the ONLY plant that the worms eat.
I know that those aren't the zebra's or normal white silkies that we normally feed. But with what you've said about them eating the hornworm chow you have I wonder if there are other trees, like the pecan, that they can and will eat.
