When is it time to upgrade your dragon cage. I see to many people with full grown dragons in 40 gallons. Today let’s go over when you should upgrade you dragons cage.
BABIES
lets say you are planning to get a baby bearded dragon. Good choice mine is on me whiles I’m writing this. So before you drying your dragon home you should already have a cage set up. But how big does this cage need to be, well good news not huge. From 0-4 months you can get away with a 20 gallon. but once they get past 4 months they need at least a 40 gallon. This is why I would recommend starting of with a 40 gallon even if you get a dragon under 4 months. I say this because this will save you time and money, and can reduce stre in your little dragon. the dimensions of your average 40 gallon are 36 by 16 by 18. So in conclusion for this section start with a 40 gallon
ADULTS
so let’s say you want to get an adult or your baby has become one what size do you need. This is a very controversial subject. But what a lot of people and me are saying is at least 75 gallons. This can work as a minimum and I have seen dragon live happy lives in these. The dimensions of a 75 are 48 by 20 by 18. But if you want to give your dragon a larger and better space.what I would recommend is 120 gallon. i say this because bigger for a lot of reptiles is better. As long as you can maintain the humidity and temps in the enclosure you can go huge. But 120 gallon is what I would recommend. The dimensions of a 120 gallon enclosure are 48 by 24 by 24.
CONCLUSION
I hope you found this article helpful. And as long as this helped one person not put there adult in a 40 gallon it is worth it. Have a wonderful rest of your
