Hi guys n gals glad i could find this forum. Today i was digging away an old loading ramp and found some exposed eggs. Looks like birds have eaten a few but there were 6 remaining eggs that looked fir and healthy except one that poped before i discovered them. The one that broke had what looks like a bearded dragon in it that was well developed looking so i let it go near the river. The remaining three i dont know what to do with them i dont have an incubator and thwy have all rolled over as they came out of the bank whilw i was shovelling any help would be appreciated? Since they have rolled around will they be dead or becuase they are more developed will they be ok?

wow! where are you? i cant help ya with this - i'm thinking that since the one was reasonably well developed, that the others may be also. you might try "candleing" them - since the damage is already done (no blame - you didnt know they were there) what happens is what happens. this could be an interesting experiment - please keep us posted - oh - and - good luck !

I agree you can try and candle them but I also can't offer much help. I know there should be incubator instructions on youtube.. heat, I think people use vermiculite and some kind of soil and trying not to move them out of what is now their position to keep from damaging them.. any dents, mold I think they are no good but hey can't hurt to try...
Keep up posted, do you have a local game warden natural resource office?

I'm not sure either. I would think though that since the other one was developed the other ones would be close to hatching themselves.

Eggs in incubator the lowest it will go temp wise is 30 degrees c and have the humidity at about 68% all the eggs seem to be nice and firm haven't gone discoloured and mould or anything so im presuming evertything is ok.

The next thing i will need to know is if they hatch when should i release back to the area they were found? Straight after hatching or give a few days in incubator first.

I would imagine give them a few days. In past reading I believe they can live off of the yoke after hatching...But I've got zero experience just know a few things about in general things that hatch from eggs typically use up the yoke before needing to start feeding.
Excited to hear/see the developments

First egg pipped over night he has a big hole in shell now but still hasen't got his head out yet. Don't know if its still alive as i can't see any movement but i was concerned last night becaue i candled and could see them in there but none were moving. Also the egg that pipped is one that i was worrying about because it was starting to get yukky looking yellow slimy patches on egg so i thought id was bad lol. So exciting yay :)

It's interesting in Australia that you need a license to keep reptiles.

Yes its illegal to even do what im doing but i couldn't just leave the eggs to die. I think the license is so that not just anyone can go out and carch our native animals they can keep track of them that way. There are different levels of license's more experienced owners can then own more complex animals.
