I also just switched him over from a calcium sand substrate (ik it's bad) over to ceramic tiles, so idk if this could've stemmed from that

Yes quite possible its like a callus-- you can put some raw unpasteurized honey on it to help it heal -- like a Manuka honey --- DO NOT leave crickets in the tank tho -- they will go for the honey -- make sure your tiles arent too coarse or he will get sores on his feet from that -- you want a textured slated ceramic tile - something in between a coarse and a smooth -- one for non slippage and one for traction so hes not slipping all over
