Here are the types of roaches I have at my disposal.

Dubia, Lobster, Forest and Rubida.

Looking at breeding for my soon to be Beardie Colony.

Which type is the most nutritional?
Which type is the best or most rapid to breed?

I only have dubia but they are awesome. Very easy to keep and breed. They aren't all that fast and they don't climb or fly. Plus all my lizards LOVE them.

Dubia....hands down! Just need to start out with a decent-sized colony. It looks to me like the Forest Roach and Blaptica Dubia are one in the same.

I used to breed Lobster....they freak me out as they can climb anything (glass included). Don't know anything about Rubida. Got me curious.

The forests are also known as woodies.. yes ?
Those and the dubias would be the ones I would go with if I were in your location..
The nice thing about those woodies, is you can bring in "new" blood so to speak when it is needed..
Some precautions would be needed, due to pesticides and other chemical or parasitical presences..
Aside from those.. Your choices seem to be easy..
Lobsters swarm, are closely related to the German roaches, flutter fly and just aren't my cuppa tea.
I'm not familiar with the Rubida species..
Hope this helps.

Thank You All

I have a friend who breeds all of the species I have mentioned.
I will get some info on Rubida for you guys.

I do however think I will go with Dubia.

From what age can I feed Dubia to the baby dragons when they hatch.

To get pinhead crickets is definitely going to be a problem for me.

You can feed the nymphs off to brand new hatchlings. But I will warn you unless you start out with a huge colony you will not be able to sustain through their appetite past the first month. I have a large colony (500+ adults) of dubia and a large colony (400+ adults) of hissers and after about 2 months I had to move on to other feeders as my 40 hatchlings had cleaned out both tubs of nymphs.

If you have eggs in the cooker your already to late starting a sustainable colony.
I have 2 bins of 10 thousand roaches and they cant keep up with 100 babies....lol

Thanks Guys

My friend has a large colony which has been going for a few years now. I will get nymphs from him and cricks from my local pet shop.

Sweet! That's the best kind of deal there is. Not to mention, he'll set you up real good with a colony of your own.
