Hi,
This is my dragon Oscar,

he shed about a week ago. I noticed the other day that he had quite a bit of unshed skin inside his right ear. I was scratching at it lightly with my fingernail and was able to get some of it off. What is left is in pretty far. I am wondering if there is a way to remove the rest of it? I know you are not supposed to pull stuck shed skin because you can pull new skin too and hurt them but I am not sure how far in this skin goes and I don't want to put water in his ear to try to loosen it. Any ideas?

My beardies love having the shower spray on their head and body and afterwards I take the towel and just hold it by their ear to make sure that there is no water sitting in there. I don't push the towel in or anything just dry the outer ear and any water usually gets absorbed into the towel. If you can't do a shower, just a bath and run water over his head. Looks like it's real loose and may just come out soon on it's own.

Agree with Patsy. Does the whole shed move? Sometimes, the shed is just sitting there and it's loose from the scale. I've had sheds where they act like they're sticking but they're not.

Thank you Ladies. It never occurred to me to take him in the shower, he does like it in there. The skin is loose around the edges but I think it is definitely attached further in. I will very gently double check and either way give him a shower today. Showers are actually really funny with him, we have a seat in our shower and I always put him on there so he doesn't get into the shampoo or body wash. He still gets a good spray but he never stays there. He always jumps or slides to the floor and wanders around. The lip of the shower slightly curved up to the edge, I get out first and dry off and he tries to climb the four inch slope, always sliding back. LOL I am beginning to wonder if he does this on purpose, he seems to enjoy the sliding.

Thanks again for the help Ladies!!! It is very much appreciated.

You're welcome. I think he's doing that to follow you out. He loves it. Maya does it too.
