Tail rot or shedding?

Our little guy is about 2.5 months. We’ve had him for a little Over 1month. This week I started to notice a gray tint to his tail. Hopefully shedding but don’t want to minimize if it could be an infection. Any suggestions as to what is going on?

Looks like shed--- tail rot is caused by nips bites or pinches - the end will get very dry and brittle - if its infected it will turn black and start to move up the tail then you need a vet asap

His feet are a little Grayish too, so hopefully shedding! Thank you so much for the extra info! We felt the end of his tail and it feels soft like normal! And no risk of bites as he’s alone in his cage! Thanks again
