He was surrendered to my local humane society. I own and run a 501c3 animal rescue so the humane society manager contacted me about Earl. My rescue does all kinds of animals, including exotics. Anyway, the relinquish paperwork says he was 6 months old. He's about 16" long so that could be correct. His head is huge, though. LOL.

That unfortunate he’s had a bumpy start to life, at least he has you now to care for him he might be closer to 8 months my beardy is 20” and almost 2, but i think shes just bigger than usual, and ur sure hes a boy? Did you check yourself? Or just going off of the paperwork?

I forgot to add that I decided to keep him and not adopt him out, obviously. LOL. I've always loved Beardies.

The paperwork did not state sex but he definitely has two bumps!!! The person who surrendered him seemed to have been doing a good job with him. He appeared very healthy when I got him. His tank was way too small but otherwise he was in really good shape.

I've wondered about his age, too. The age/size charts online are not very helpful. LOL.

Oh wonderful, you seem to care alot for him, im sure he appreciates you If u wanna post a picture of his vent just to make sure i or someone else can probably confirm for you, and has he been weighed recently (grams) ? Usually weight is a better way to age them in my opinion, alot of peoples dragons are missing the tips of their tails making the dragon seem younger.

I've attached a couple pics I took. From looking online, he definitely has two visible bumps back there. Also, he weighs 469grams.

U need to put him on the floor actually and lift up the tail and its the very base of the tail where his “hemipenes” will show (if u didnt know boy dragons actually have two pps) one for either side of the body , helps with mating) and wow almost 500, I definitely think hes alot older than the person may have realized, he might even be a year old.

My goodness….. i haven’t weighed my girl for the past year cause i know they bulk up in year two….. but wow …. 21inches and 635 grams and she pood this morning too….

You can also “candle” his tail , get a flashlight and go into a dark room with him and flash it on his back or the top side of his tail and if u see two ovals in his tail then u got a boy, female bearded dragons have all their hardware inside their bodies, boys have some of it in their tails

I just got my hubby to help measure him. He's 21" long. Longer than my estimate by quite a bit.

Lol by one of the charts my beardy is over weight, my beardy must have “german giant” in her cause shes definitely not too big, have you given earl hornworms yet? They’re my beardies favorite.
