Well, I got my first delivery of roaches on Wednesday, and the girls are crazy for them, which I'm pretty happy about. Now, They have their water crystals and foodstuffs, but do they need some dirt or anything to breed like crickets?? I'm definitely going to buy more of them, I got the 210 mixed dubia with 2 breeding pair, I think I'll buy they same thing next week, I can't help but feed them to the girls! They love them too much to say no...

okay. I didnt actually mean as a substrate though. I breed crickets as well, and I always put a small tub of dirt in their cage for them to lay their eggs in. didnt now if roaches required the same thing. I'm guessing no.

I read that they lay 30 eggs each time they breed, and thats every 30 days right?

oh okay, good to know, thanks. are the numbers right though? 30 babies every 30 days?

I have no idea what you mean by "oranges are like roach spam"...

Oranges tend to increase interest in breeding, thus the addition of half an orange weekly will mean more roaches ;)

Janie once said to me "they're like roach viagra". I just 1/4 an orange and put it on the water crystals, they eat it all the way to the peel, works wonders
