Not sure about how someone would do it, but just be very cautious about it. Your beardie will probably try to eat any bug (that could have walked across some sort of chemical) gets in there with it. Plus beardies can be very good escape artists. Just throwing out some caution your way ;)

What are the temps like where you're at? Humidity must also be taken into consideration.

maybe an outside "lay area" would work, but housing them outside i would think is more trubble then its worth. after all to protect it from the harmful stuff outside like animals, bugs and such you would have to have a closed tank of some sort and that would be no differant from having the tank inside.

plus if its a glass tank then no UV light can get in, but the tank will heat up and can get to hot for the dragon and harm him.
