Night Light

Last year I used a space heater for my room and a blue/black night time bulb to warm up my boy's enclosure, as the current positioning of his tank wouldn't allow for a CHE with thermostat (besides it doesn't get THAT cold). I accidentally got him a red light instead of a black and kept him up all night. But now from what I remember, last winter my boy slept like a baby under the blue/black light. Would this be a wise way to go?

They only need heat if the tank goes below 65 degrees.
