New here, hi everybody :p

Would you buy silkworms, and if so what is a reasonable price for a batch of 100?

My juvenile female beardie is about 3 months old, named Tasty. I figured I should join a bearded dragon forum to keep in the loop and have a good source for answering unknown questions. I'm in the process of ordering crickets online but still weary about which site to use (I live in Alaska so if the crickets aren't packaged right there's a good chance a lot could die). I also am VERY interested in breeding silkworms due to their high protein content, but not ready to drop the $150 to get the eggs and housing to allow them to thrive.. I considered breeding them and trying to find clientele to sell to but unsure if anyone would be interested. What do you guys think?

Anyways, heres a picture of Tasty when she was just a little baby at the end of January, she was soo small!

And heres a picture of her beautiful colors about two sheds ago. I edited the picture a little to make the colors more vibrant and visible :p

I'm glad to be a part of this forum and look forward to getting to know some of you and your beardies ;)

Welcome to the forum! Tasty is a cutie!! I don't know about silkworms so that I can't help you with.. I'm not aware of what companies ship to Alaska for crickets but here in the states I used Armstrong crickets.. Now I raise and feed Dubia's for my staple. Hopefully others will chime in that can help ya

Silkworms are tricky to breed because they eat mulberry leaves and chow that I think is made from mulberry leaves. You have to really keep them clean, they constantly spin silk and they constantly poop and they don't like humidity. I don't raise my own but when I can find someone that has them I buy them. I don't know of anybody that ships to Alaska though.
