Ok so what are your surface basking temps? I see stick ons for temp gauges --- you want 2 digital probe thermometers --- next what bulbs are the in the domes ? I dont see a long tube UVB -- this is a must --- if your using a MVB in one of those domes it is inadequate for UVB rays and the further away from the basking area and w/ screen hes basically getting no UVB
Are you using a MVB? those are ok if your using a Mega Ray or PowerSun - those provide good heat but you still want a long tube fixture -- here are 3 that are good
for the 40 + gallon tank you want a 24" fixture

these are all good ones - when you get the UVB please post back on here I will help you get it placed for your tank
the screen will determine where the UVB needs to go
It is possible for brumation but if it's summer time where you are it would be odd-- zoo med digital probe thermometer- let's get the tank temps and uvb on par then go from there w/ his behavior
