My diy corner unit conversion

Well i brought nice corner unit the other day for $1, I'm gonna use it as my BD's new home, only part that my dragon won't be able to get in will be the draws and top area in the middle, will prob remove shelves,only issue i have is the unit is a butt ugly colour and I'm a furniture repair/repolisher and was wondering if the lacquer and paint we use once dry will be safe for her

i always seal anthing i use with a water based polyurethane its not toxic and works very well.
