I got this sweet girl three weeks ago. She has a twitchy foot, but only when basking at high temps. This is a picture on the first day I had her. She is not close to the lamp any longer. Bulb is a 50W UVA and UVB. She also does this in the bath if I make the water a little too warm. It twitches, as well as her fingers sometimes. She does it with both feet, but normally her left and only one at a time. She has good appetite. I use ZooMed calcium and D3. I forget to dust sometimes, but its only been a couple meals. She is healthy in every other way. She's already shedding again, as she'd just finished when I got her three weeks ago. I expect shes only a couple months old. Her body, not including her tail, is about 2 inches long. Thoughts? Please help and thank you for reading this all! I want her to be healthy. I love her so! :)

hi, is that UV a compact coil bulb? I presume you have a basking bulb in there as well?. What is your temperature gradient like?, ie temp of basking spot and temp of hot end and cool end of your tank.
Lighting and temps are very important, compact flourescent's are only effective at a hieght of 6 inches above your dragon and some produce very low levels of UVB. Your dragon needs this to convert d3 into the calcium it needs for bone growth, and sufficient temperature for the digestion of food.
Your dragon is still a baby and has a lot of growing to do, if it has MBD then making sure the UV levels are good is the place to start and getting enough of the right suppliments is going to help grow strong bones. You should also be using a multivitamin once a week.

So I take it you are using a MVB then..twitching can be a number of things, neurological, also calcium you might want to have your little one seen by a vet to make sure she's ok..

Sounds like they are using a MVB (mecury vapor bulb) this 1 bulb that gives off heat and UVB

What are you measuring your temps with and what are the temps? Can you post a pic of your tank?
