seems to me that the lack of information spreads much broader than one kid. A hugamongus part of the internet associated with this hobby believe that Sandfire is a morph and not a breeder. Although I'm not even sure they're breeding anything but frogs these days.

Just more rhetoric spread by one misconceived notion. Travels thru this hobby like ICK on fish. But it didn't start with this kid. I've heard the same thing for at least the last 5 years. Probably before that even.

I read it, and understand what you're saying. Just curious WHY and how all the mis information becomes so well known and how the actual bottom line gets covered up is all. It's a trend that has gone on for years, and i don't see it ending.

All about the $$$$$$ if you can tag it with a fancy name (preferably a well known on like GG, Cris Allen or Sandfitre in this case) it sells for more. Out of all the BD breeders here in Oz only one has a line tagged with their name. R. Walker out of SA.

Remember that bright red BD pic from Oz bri, that's his. There are a few other respected breeders (reptile authors even) around here that produce quality BDs but even they don't tag them with their names. Rick is the only one that specialises in BDs.

Well sadly I have to admit that this is exactly what I thought also, till I read that post on .org. Even here is South Africa people will askk "hey where can I get a sandfire dragon from.... it has to be sandfire"
So even if the topic got locked and all. I learned something valuable by reading it. I also didnt understand what it meant when people talked about the "phases" but I think now I do.

So Francis & Brian, thanx for the info you guys tried to put out there. It sure made some things clear for me at least

That statement, Monique, is what the problem with the internet brings us to.
Bad information, inaccurate information, and outdated information becomes redderick.(sp).
Basically it's.. pardon the term... bull flop.

Good and current information is what needs to be shared. It starts with one person, KNOWING the correct and proven information, and passing that on to others, consistently, to help change this problem. And it isn't going to change over night either...

Australians don't group dragons in morphs like the US. According to Francis, they group them by phase (which refers to coloration) and locality I believe.

The "phases" that we categorize dragons in are still in reference to the morph we assign them to.

When I refer to phases at least I just say I have a yellow phase, red, orange or brown/beige. Those fancy color morph names drive me up a wall. I honestly prefer just calling it a insert color here phase.
