Light for heat light

I found a flood light that 65w it said made with halogen. Is this a good light for basking I was needing a 65w in a halogen light couldn't find it except this one

Do you have a brand & model name of the bulb so we can look it up? Unsure what you mean by 'Made' with Halogen.

It will work, if it put's out enough heat to keep the temps where you want them, which I doubt it will. That bulb won't be near as hot as a 65w Halogen bulb. Any white light bulb of sufficient wattage & type, that will put out enough heat to keep the temps where you want them (110F for a baby & juvenile) at the basking spot, will work.

Well I tried 65w this one
And it got up to 99.7. I have the other one in now and already up to 108.7

Oh well, use what works for you ;) . We all have to play with bulbs, distances, basking heights for our own particular setups & ambient room temps. What may work in my setups, may not work for you, there are just to many variables between individual setups.
