Hi I’m a new owner of bearded dragon.

I wanted one for years and finally was able to get one. The only place to go to get one was a pet shop. When I look at the baby BD’s all where the same except for the one I got, named Toothless. When I got Toothless, it looked like it was starting to shed. One of the claws on Toothless was smaller and looked mangled. I asked the sellers/store vet that worked there about it and they said that it was just shedding. Toothless has gone through its shedding already and it does look better but I can see know that it is missing some toes. The issue is that the skin looks swollen/ not natural on it. At the beginning it would sometime shake it’s claw on occasions and had trouble climbing things. Know it seems to be doing fine, but it still worries me.

I don’t know what to do because I don’t trust the vet at the store and can’t find anything online. Would anybody be able to help me that might have gone through this before?

Also- I think that it has a leatherback gene. It’s much more colorful/smoother looking than the other BD that were in the tank with him. Just seeing if other see it too.

what a darling little dragon. it does look like something happened to his toes, maybe got bitten by another dragon. you can make a betadine and water solution to gently dab on or soak the foot to help prevent infection and also neosporin without pain relief is good.

It looks like he got nipped on the foot and the tail. If it is continuing to heal as is I don't think there is anything a vet would be able to do to help.
