Hi, my name is Mickey! I’m also on the tortoise forum. I have two bearded dragons- Pablo and Onion. Hello, Everyone!
They are not housed together. I am not sure of Onion’s sex, but Pablo is definitely a male.

Pablo is a rescue from my old school. He was the only survivor of five. They got 5 baby dragons for a 20 gallon tank, housed on sand with no UVB. They were kept like this for 4 years, and the remaining two grew to 6 inches. They moved them into a 18x18x24, with the same care. It was Pablo and Lola. They were fed 3 crickets a day and a handful of greens weekly. Over breaks, they had no heat, light, or food. My art teacher took him when she realized this was abuse. He was in good care. He ate hornworms and greens. He had UVB and a reptile bedding turf. She moved and knew I loved reptiles, so she gave him to me. He is skinny still, but doing much better.

So glad you took him! Actually glad that the art teacher realize it was abuse and did something first. I know that there are some teachers that are reptile lovers and take great care of their class pets but it makes me mad when I see cases like this where they let the animal just waste away and die. If you are going to have a class pet, then you need to research their care and make sure you provide for them.

They got him from my local reptile shop. The man at the counter said he gets the dragons from Underground Reptiles. I feel so bad, Pablo is a sweetheart, and he got abused for 8 years! Well, I guess this is his retirement home. I love taking in special needs animals. We just recently took in a baby crested gecko who was born with 3 feet. Fortunately , I get a lot of calls from schools because I am now “well known” in my town. Unfortunately, I can’t take any more so I tell them to come here and all the other forums.
