Figured I would wish everyone a happy thanksgiving this weekend , {I KNOW you americans dont have yours until nov, but up here in Canada its this weekend} So bring on the turkey and apple pies. N thank god its a looong weekend time to sleep in.....Oh wait I have 3 kids guess NO sleeping in ;)

BEARDYLOVER I would love any good recipes you have with anything apple lol I have a huge apple tree and a ton of apples.

Wolfman lol a long weekend is when the schools close and im stuck home with roudy kids allllll day long for 3 days in a row lol it gets very long at times.

Dragonmom there is always room at my table for more friends and beardys of course :)

here are some apple recipes i have

Apple Crisp Recipe


4 cups sliced peeled granny smith apples
2/3 cup dark brown sugar
1/2 cup flour
1/2 cup oats
3/4 teaspoon cinnamon
3/4 teaspoon nutmeg
1/3 cup softened butter

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Grease an 8x8x2 pan and place granny smith apple slices in the bottom of the pan. Mix the remaining ingredients together and sprinkle evenly over the top of the apples. Bake for 30 minutes. Enjoy this recipe.



Serves 6 to 8


Apple Cinnamon Streusel Muffins

Preparation: Preheat oven to 400 degrees

Step 1: Mix in lg. bowl:
1 egg
2/3 cup milk
1/3 cup sugar
1/3 cup oil

Step 2: Wash core and peel 1 apple. Shred apple and add to lg. bowl

Step 3: measure in med. bowl:
2 cups bisquick mix
½ tsp cinnamon

Step 4: Add dry ingredients to lg. bowl stirring about 10 times (don’t over mix) and fill paper cups 2/3 full

Step 5: Blend with pastry blender in small bowl:
3 tbsp butter
¼ cup flour
2 tbsp brown sugar
¼ cup flour
¼ tsp cinnamon

Apple Pie

Preparation: Preheat oven to 450 degrees


PIE CRUST (Make 2)
Step 1: Mix ingredients in lg. bowl
2 cups flour
¼ cup sugar
½ tsp. salt

Step 2: Using pastry blender cut in shortening mix (Mixture should be evenly mixed and look like small crumbs)

4 tablespoon margarine
¼ cup shortening
2 oz. cream cheese

Step 3: Add 2tsp lemon juice and 2 tablespoons of ice water and press together w/ fork

Step 4: Add another tablespoon of ice water and press w/ fork

Step 5: Place mixture on a wax paper and roll out (use palms)

Step 6: Transfer pie pan, add filling add top of pie

Step 7: Put collar (foil) around edges and bake at 425 degrees for 30 min.

Filling

Step 8: Cut up apples, remove seeds & core

Step 9: Slice into thin wedges

Step 10: Sauté in ¼ cup butter, (top with 2 tablespoons cinnamon and ¼ cup sugar)
