Hey guys, I know it has been awhile and I am sorry for that. Any who, I want to make some hides for my beardie Jethro and gecko Abby. I have seen see nome YouTube videos about it. Some use insulation foam from the Home Depot store. They trim it to what they want. Now I know some use grout, but what is the purpose of grouting it? I would much rather paint it with acrylics as I am the artsy type. Any help would be great!

I had to find a new home for the second bearded dragon I had awhile back. I adored him but at the time I barely had time for all three plus cat and dog. But he does have a good home now. So I can focus on my remaining lizards. :)

I could be wrong but I think the grout gives it a harder surface. If you just painted your styrofoam, your bearded dragon would rip it apart with its nails.
