i have a bunch of fresh cut firewood. friends dad chopped it.. i wanted to use it as a border on one side of my beardies viv i just didnt know if it was safe. i know there isnt any chemicals in them . . idk if it helps but i took a pic

The main thing I would be worried about is bugs. Who knows what lives on that log. You could bake it, boil it, or submerge it for a bit though to cure that.
Experts correct me if I'm wrong.

Guess ive uses lumber from the back yard with no issues. Not saying that there couldnt be potentioal for some types of parasites though.

it is actually hard wood. and i was planning on cleaning it then baking it. i just dont know how to bake it.. wrap in foil?? what temp.? how long?

If it was me doing it i would:

Wrap it in foil, like you stated, and bake it at 200F. The time would depend on the size. For a small rock or piece of drift wood i would bake it of 2 hours and then increase the times from there.
