i have a male and a female bearded dragon who mated over three months ago. i'm worried because my female is yet to lay any eggs and is displaying some wierd behaviour. She has watery urate and goes 4-5 times a day. She has proper calcuim intake and UV lighting. Eating is dramtically on and off and she has a threatend black beard but shows little signs of agression towards the male. Eats healthy gutloaded crickets and gets healthy treats often. my concern is i'm doing something wrong and this will effect the long term health of my female. I'm no breeder but i believe her change in behavior happend after they mated. i've yet to heard anone have the same problem and would appreciate any helpful input. Thanks

she actually just laid two eggs about a couple ago? she laid an egg on one of the floating rocks so i put her in her lay bin for an hour or so and nothing. i put her back in the tank and she laid another off the side of the floating rock? I'm confused because i've offered her the lay bin but she won't use it. the bin is big, has a light and lots of soil. Also the eggs she laid were a bit leathery squishy when they were laid, is this normal or what does it mean? sorry if i sound dumb, worried about my dragon though.

Seems to be an infertile clutch.
I would seperate the 2 dragons.
Soak your female 20 to 30 min in water slightly warmer than she is used to.
Are you sure your male is male?
sometimes a dominate female can take on the role of a male to force an infertile clutch.

i'm pretty sure it's a male. i saw them mating and up until then i thought i had two males. she laid two eggs in her lay bin then fell asleep. :-\ what should i do with her? is this normal? does it mean they are infertile because she isn't taking "big" priority on laying them? what do normal eggs look like? do fertile eggs come out hard shelled or soft? out of curiosity i broke one open and it was filled with yellow yolk. does this show anything?

Ok we will assume you have a male and a female for now.
Just be aware an ALpha female will go though the entire motion of breeding to make another female throw eggs to keep the breeding competiton down.

Fertile eggs will be whiteish and plump with almost a leather like feel.
infertile eggs will be longish squishy not plump.

Eggs have yolk no matter what.

I told you what to do for your female. If the longer warmer soaks dont work you may need a vet to see if she is egg bound

thanks for all the help. it's nice to have a good opinion. She layed three eggs yesterday, a couple in the tank, a couple in her lay bin. She seems a bit stressed but in no hurry to lay a "clutch". :-\ Are you able to see "blood veins" in a fertile egg right away, or how long until they appear in a fertile egg? are there any other methods to tell if eggs are fertile?
