So I've had this bearded dragon since mid july, and it's my first one, I recently got back from vacation after letting a friend take care of it and I've noticed the skin is alot darker and it looks like some sort of growth on the toe. Is it normal for the color change and is this just dead skin? Or is it something more on the serious side.

Hard to tell what that is on the toe, did you try to brush it off? It could be stuck shed or it could be something else. The colors of the dragon can change slightly after each shed. They also get darker when they are absorbing UVB and heat.
