Hi, Depending on how damaged the area is will determine on if the scales do grow back however the scales should come back but it will take a very long time. The yellow area could be fungus or bacteria related. It could also be from the disconnect to the tissue underneath, meaning he will lose them also.
Note: If it is yellow fungus. It will spread and it will spread to other areas of the body. You will need Itraconazole + vagisil.

I would personally soak the limb in provodone iodine for (recommend 15 minutes but just do it as long as you can) twice daily. If the yellow fungus is not horribly bad. You can try vagisil on its own. Im not saying this will cure it but from experience it does help in conjuction with Itraconazole.

A veterinarian will prescribe it. Most will not have it on hand and it will be done at a local Rx shop which also normally will not have it on hand. lol . Its not cheap either.:(

You can use it straight or dilute it a little bit with warm water. You can use any container that you think is big enough to soak the limb.

I did also forget to mention that with yellow fungus you will need to clean your cage out daily.

I did remove the substraite and added shelf liner. As for cleaning can I spot clean or do I need to wipe with bleach water? How would you clean the tank? Is it ok to still hold her? Other than looking bad she seems ok. She just ate 17 crickets.

They will typically be ok (will have an appetite) until the yellow fungus is in advanced stages. It can and will kill your dragon if left untreated.

(If this is yellow fungus)
I would personally keep her on paper towel or newspaper. I wouldnt use any wood. If you use rocks i would soak them in bleach water and then rinsed real well. Personally, i would keep the cage as simple as possible. for the cage floor and walls. Wipe it out with bleach solution, then go back with plain water to rinse. I wouldnt hold her either except for administering drugs and topicals. Wash your hands very well afterwards.

No but it is to other animals.

Edit: I have treated quite a few cases with yellow fungus. I was careful with washing my hands or cross contamination to other animals. I did not get it. However, im not exactly sure if you were not careful if it would be.

Pet co said if she does die they will replace her. If that happens can I use the same tank after treating with bleach?
I was thinking for daily cleaning do a 50/50 bleach to water mixture is that strong enough? And for the drift wood do I just soak it in the same mixture or can I spray it ?

We are going under an assumption right now. The dragon may not even have yellow fungus. It would be best to take it to a vet to be sure what we are dealing with. If it does have YFD it can be cleared up.

50/50 is a bit strong and will need time to air out and you will need to rinse well. I personally do a 10% solution.
Logically i would say you can do the same with the wood but i wouldnt chance it.

Dont be afraid to ask the vet questions. Research the different possibilities and pick at their knowledge. Take in your notes if need be :)
