Is it ok to have the top of your hide as your basking area ? or should the hide rather be on the cooler side ?

Mine is set up the same, way, I see nothing wrong with it. If your dragon needs to thermo regulate he simply has to move to the other side. I figure that would be the only concern there.

I have my dragon's main hide under the basking area. He has plenty of other shady spots to get to if he needs

Yip my "hide" if you could call it that is under the basking platorm also.
