Advice on cleaning veggies

Good afternoon all,
I recently discovered worms in my poor little girls poo :( we are currently waiting on her vet appointment which is not for another 10 days. Tomorrow we are going to call around and see if we can find anyone that can see her sooner.
In the mean time I'm wondering if you guys have any suggestions on methods I can use to clean her veggies and rid them of any potential parasite that may be on them? I always buy her veggies and greens from the grocery store (I don't pick anything outside) and I always rinse everything off before I give it to her. I read that tapeworm eggs and many other parasites can be on veggies depending on where/how they are grown. For this reason I just want to be extra cautious to not reinfect her once she's had treatment. Any help or suggestions will be greatly appreciated
Thanks so much

I've never heard that about tap worm eggs. I hope you can get your girl in to see someone soon, did you tell the vet that you actually saw a worm in her poop? I would think that would be some what of an emergency.

I look like a weirdo in the grocery store. When I pick my greens I hold them upside down and shake them real good. I found a roach in my mustard greens once when I got them home! I chop all of my greens and I put them in a salad spinner and I run warm water on them. Not too hot, not too cold. I heard using cold water on your veggies doesn't get things off of them. I then agitate them around with my hand for a few minutes then drain them and rinse 2 more times until the water is clear. Then I spin them in the spinner until they are all dry and then I put them in ziploc bags with a paper towel to collect any extra moisture.

I will start trying that thank you very much. I had literally just been sticking them in the sink, running cold water on them, than giving them to her [emoji58][emoji50] I feel awful and will start being much more cautious. I'm not sure how true the entire "eggs on veggies" thing is, but from now on I'm going to do whatever to make sure it isn't me causing this for her.
I'm the same lol, that's crazy that a roach was in the mustard greens! I guess it could've been much worse lol

It was a real tiny one that I wasn't sure was a roach at first. Usually in the summer organic mustard greens have so many bugs on them, it's like they picked them from someones garden. So I just thought it was a little fly until I really looked at it.
