Hello, we’ve just got our bearded dragon and have had him for a month and a half now, he eats a variety of vegetables with bee pollen with calcium and D3 vitamin supplements, except I’m having a problem with the protein. He is 2 years old so he is an adult, but only eats a few crickets a week, maybe 3-4 total for the week with the occasional mealworm. I offer him them multiple times a day yet he refuses them, I’d also like to mention these are canned crickets so they are not live, but the mealworms are. Is this normal? Online I see they are supposed to eat 10-20 a day??!! I couldn’t fathom him ever eating that many. For extra protein i sometimes give him a bit of boiled egg. Anyway, he doesn’t act lethargic, he basks like normal, his temperatures are optimal, and I take him out of his cage to let him wander at least once a day. Any suggestions to make him eat more crickets? Live is out of the question, my mom won’t have live crickets or roaches in the house. Thanks.
