I want to make sure that I am doing right by our beardie. I was told that he needed a UVB and a basking temp and I could use a CHE for that. I have read post on other forums, that state to use a flood light. I cannot imagine that a Home Depot flood bulb gives off UVA spectrum.

How important is it to have a UVA if I have a CHE for the basking area. I also have a UVB. I am asking because I see some setups where they only have a halogen flood light along with the UVB.

For the next 30 days I have to give Rex subcutaneous injection of medicine. The vet showed me how to do it and everything was going ok until today. I injected 7.5 ml on one side of his body. When Inserted the needle on the other side. I tried to inject the rest of the medicine, and for some...
I took Rex to the vet this past week, out of concern that he has not been himself the last two weeks. His white blood cells and uric acid was double the acceptable levels. Which makes her think he might have kidney disease. We are still waiting on another test result. Has anyone had this issue...
Thanks! I think we have been doing a good job with Rex so far. To date he doesn't seem to like his bath he will sit in one spot and not move.

I have been going through some of past post looking for an answer to my question, and yes I know every dragon is different. Normally ours would have a regular BM in the early morning, but than it started to happen later in the day sometime after I had gone to work. So, it became my kids job of...
Our beardie is back to a more normal looking poop as far as texture it is not runny like it had been. I have added a second light to our setup. I placed a black square under it and the temperature registers 106 using both temperature devices that I have. That being said, he continues to basks...
I put the two wire temperature gauge that I bought from the pet store and it shows that his basking spot is 102.3 F. I have an inferred thermometer but I don't get good readings off of the wooden perch

Odd behavior today, sometimes our beardie will go on the bottom of his enclosure and sleep for the night. Within an hour and a half he will make his way up to his basking spot. Today his lights came on around 6:30 and by the time I went to be with my dad he was still laying under his hiding...
I was kind of think that the bell peppers had a lot of water in them when I had cut them up. Is their a trick to keeping the vegetables from wilting quickly. The collard greens and kale are only sold in big bundles. I am not a big fan of kale so I won't eat up the extra.

So things have been going good with our beardie. Eating his salad that I offered. The other day I offered a little bit of a red bell pepper, which he seemed to like. Today I offered a some more. And today his poop is more watery then it has been normally it is been the consistency of malleable...
