What is the best way to get a weight on Mordy?

I use an ice cream container (square 2 liter one) on top of a kitchen scale to weigh Lizz, she is not pleased but stays put long enough to get a weight.

A basic digital one like This one

Where did you get it and how much is it?

You should be able to get one at any hardware store or store that sells kitchen supplies, I can't tell you a price because we are probably in different countries.

A general kitchen scale that weighs in grams will work. I got one for $15 at Bed Bath and Beyond.
