I haven't posted about Sosa for a while. He's eating medium sized Dubias at this point and is getting pretty big! For the past 2 months I've been kind of hesitant to touch him though. Everytime I try to pick him up he puffs his belly out and sort of puffs his beard. I make sure he sees my hand first so he understands I'm not a predator. He's growing up and he's just not fond of being touched. I wanted to see if he is actually a boy but I'm afraid he will jump or bite me and that would be unproductive to trying to get him to be nicer.

naughty Sosa...if you allow him to do this and not pick him up he wins if you get my drift..if your afraid of him bitting put some garden gloves on so he doesn't get ya.. just keep picking him up don't show any hesitation that way he will settle down and get back to being his old younger self :)

Okay he's just a jumper and he's bigger but not super big so I think he can still fit under doors if he tries

Odins Still a small baby; but he has his moments; I just go very slow and if he gaps at me I put my index finger under his chin and slowly close his mouth.... lol...

He is definitely a jumper too and when spooked a runner; super fast...I just hold him in my hands and let him got between both hands if hes wriggling.

I do not let him have free roam yet because I don't trust him not to get hurt; so I am always supervising; however he has gotten to the point where I do trust him enough to put him onto surfaces and let him roam a little...

I just refuse to let him not get used to me; so I am holding him as much as I can w/o stressing him out; I can kind of tell when he's just has enough and wants back in the cage...

Keep handling Sosa as much as you can; if he gapes just go slow; I do like you do; come from bottom up so they know im not a predator. top down must be terrifying for them at their size.

When I reach in to take Dooku out, he always thinks I'm going in with food so he tries to get me, sometimes he wins with a decent little bite, haha. I just try to come from a higher angle n get behind his head, usually he realizes I'm gonna pick him up at that point

You have to show him that you aren't afraid of him when he he has his temper tantrum. Once he sees that he's not intimidating you he will stop.

Are a lot of beardies aggressive like this? The two times Bayne accidently bit me when I was feeding him, he felt so bad. It took me a while to even coax him into eating when I hand fed him again. I couldn't picture Bayne biting intentionally unless someone was hurting him

Dexter bit me once, she was about 18 months old. I was feeding her some strawberries and the look on her face when she bit me was like, if she could she would have cried. That was the last time she has 1. eaten anything out of my hand and 2. willingly eaten her fruits and veggies.
