Hi everyone
didn't really know where to ask this...
My female beardie scratches a lot in corners
So I put a sandbox in the tank and she stays in it and keeps scratching..
I don't feel any eggs in her tummy..
What could it be ? Normal behavior ?
Thank you!

I don't really know anything about females and eggs. I haven't had to go through that yet. I do know if she does have eggs she needs a deeper laybox and the sand should be moist because she'll want to make a tunnel and lay her eggs in that.

Another thing that it could be...does she have a hide in her tank? My male bearded dragon was scratching around in his hide and when I looked it up they said that they can scratch around to make a comfortable spot to lay down. After I caught him doing this he went to sleep for a day and a half!

Ok now I'm really starting to worry..
I discovered today she has made a hole in the decoration (foam)
There's normally the hide at that place
Any idea what this means? Why she would do this?

And you don't feel any eggs in her belly? My first thought is she's looking for a spot to lay, especially since she dug and dug and then turned around and put her butt in there. The foam wall probably feels more secure to her because it's not going to fall in on her like dry sand. But I don't know anything about egg laying and behavior.

My female was acting the same exact way, (She just laid eggs btw) .

What I did was I grabbed an old bin and filled it about a 1/4 of moistured soil and I put a heat lamp for her and put her in a dark corner. Also you might want to make a little cave in the soil so she knows to go in there and dig!

I was going threw the same with mine and I did that & she finally laid her eggs!

Also does yours try to escape her viv?

I use to leave her in there for a few hours then take her out and put her back in her viv.

It won't let me upload a pic to show you exactly how her laybox is

Nope, not at all.
I mean she acts like your beardie was acting
Not eating alone (the only way she eats a bit is if directly give it to her with grips.
staying under her hide.. and she made a bigger hole in the wall...
I moist the sand and put her in it but she doesn't go at all.
Still can't feel the eggs either.
>.<

I mean if she looks like she gained weight then there should deff be eggs being produce. Just give her some time can even be a few weeks just have patience, I was the same way extremely worried.

Just put her in a laybox for a few hours a day untill she finally lays

I still have to get that laybox
but gonna wait a bit see how it goes.
because i think she knows if she wants to lay eggs she will have to go in the sand, there's nothing else
and laying on the vinyl... (^.^)'

Little update on my girl
She's been eating better
Still hasn't layed any eggs and I still don't feel anything
But today.. She defecated hugely (trying not to use bad words here, don't know if it's correct..)
It had been a while since last time and this time it was gigantic !
Since then, she's a lot more active
Pretty weird..
I'll continue to check on her anyways
But she's definitely looking better :)
