Our 1.5 year old beardie recently shed her beard and now has a persistent black spot that doesn’t go away - it’s been over a week and it looks to be the same size and color.
Any ideas what this might be?

Thank you so much!
They got back and said this
Keep him put of the water unless he gets dirty [ poo stains, etc ] and apply either silver sulfadiazene cream or raw honey to those scales. It may take a while to improve but as with any problem see a qualified reptile vet if it gets worse.

Oh interesting - thank you so much for the info! Surprised to keep out of the water?? What do they think is the root cause?

What type of uvb are you using? Coil or long tube fixture-- how are you getting humidity level stick on hygrometers are inaccurate - you want a digital probe hygrometer placed on the back center wall of the tank

We have a UVB bulb - would that be coil? Do not have a digital probe for humidity - how would we increase it if it’s too low?

Please look on the bulb of the UVB and tell me what brand and bulb it is- coils go in domes long tube fixtures go in like a hood -- the humidity is important for shedding --- optimal humidity is 40-50% -- nothing under 20 or over 70% -- Exo Terra makes them - we need to find out what it is before doing anything w/ it - do you have a analog one now?
