Hello my name is Maddie. My boyfriend and I got our bearded dragon Jaxx a little over two months ago. We estimate he is around 8 months old and also that he is a he (?). Earlier this week we noticed he had stopped eating and pooping. Since he was in the middle of shedding and he gets funny when he does we ignored it for a day or two but the not pooping was worrying. My aunt has a lot of reptile experience and found he was a little backed up. We gave him soft foods and a tiny bit of mineral oil to get him to pass it. After a few days and a lot of baths finally this afternoon he passed a huge blockage as big as his head. It turns out it was the stupid decorative moss we had in his tank from the pet store which I had suspected. Needless to say it has all been thrown out. My concern is he is just laying around with his eyes closed since he passed it. He’s been active the entire time he was impacted but now that it’s passed he’s acting so sick. There wasn’t any blood when he passed it. I figured he was just exhausted from pushing it out but it’s been hours. Shouldn’t he feel better now that it’s out? Why does he seem worse? Please help I’m so worried.
