Hey all. Got my first beardie in October 2016. We were told he's a high color orange standard. He was 5 weeks old when we got him and we named him Thor. However, I still have yet to do the flashlight test to make sure he's actually male. Now he's 7 months old, chubby, and 19.5" long. Thor is an active guy who climbs his wall, chases remote control cars, and loves having his head pet. Thanks to this big guy, we're obsessed. A couple of his pics are from December and January. I'll take a few pics of him next to a measuring tape in a couple days.

Love the tank decor! Just want to point out that red lights are bad for their eyes. During the day it doesn't allow the eyes to constrict and dilate properly and at night it can keep them up because they can see it with their third eye on top of their head.

He really is a pretty dragon! I would do the flashlight test soon before the tail gets too thick and the light won't shine through.

Thank you for the tip! I just recently learned this myself but I appreciate you taking the time to let me know. We are actually going to be giving him a larger home pretty soon. We're converting a China cabinet into a 3 level home for him. I can't wait to finish it. But once the new terrarium is finished, the red light will be gone.

And I did the flashlight test yesterday, 100% all boy lol.

Wow that is going to be a great new home just be aware that the older they get the more clumsy they are and can hurt themselves if they fall. I know that lighting/heating in a larger multi level tank can be a challenge to make sure he's got good access to the UVB/basking lights.

Your heart is in the right place but a nice 60-100 gallon tank is perfect for him. They're not big climbers, mine had to go from a terrarium to 60 gallon tanks bcuz the uva & UVB were at the top of the terrarium and they fell at least 2-3x . The gallon tanks with a place to cool off, basking spot, love and food, they're good. Of course, this is what I did with mine, your beardie is your's. Look forward to seeing more pics of your guy☺
