I recently lost my bearded dragon to old age. He was 12 when he passed away. I regret not breeding him so I could have kept his line going. He was incredibly friendly and interactive. I have recently put a hold on two breeder quality beardies from Fire and Ice Dragons. I have bred steppe runner lizards with success, but also want to try my hand at breeding bearded dragons and blue rock lizards :). I am hoping to get good guidance from the veterans here :)

This is my guy when he was three. His name was Daku, which means sand. He is also my avatar :)

Sorry for your loss. 12 years, is a good long life for a beardie.

Thank you Canicke and Patsy :). I raised Daku from 7 weeks. He really was one of my kids. Since he has passed it's been strange not having a beardie around. The steppe runners are cute little lizards, but they don't have the beardie personality. Probably because of their size they are a bit more timid and they don't really interact with their handlers.

Beardies are full of personality! I would really miss mine if something happened to them. I wish I would have gotten into them when I was younger. As my boyfriend always says, I never knew I'd fall in love with a prickly pear!

I know what you mean :). I had four beardies at one time. When my late husband became sick I had to part with three of them for financial reasons. Daku is the one I chose to keep because he was my first :) Now that I have none I'm adding to my home again :D

Aww four sounds like a handful lol. Aww I'm sorry to hear about your husband. I find them such great company. Do you have them from babies or as adults?

I raised all of them from babies...seven weeks. They were all around three when I found good homes for them.
