So why do you think breeders like 'where dragons dwell' use it? I can't see the positives other than the aesthetic and I don't think a big breeder like them will care about that.
I am having the same problem with mine. He may be still settling in but it's been almost a month and he still hides all day sometimes. The only thing I did which made a difference was a followed some advice given to someone else on here and I changed his cave to something he could hide behind...
If your mum can help you look after it they make great pets. The main thing is to do A LOT of research which it sounds like your doing. Pet shops and some websites are often out of date or miss informed. Getting the right set up from the start will save you time, stress and money. One great way...
You could try preloved or gumtree. I was able to get some really cheap the only downside is usually you have to collect them yourself. Although there is a guy around this way (manchester) who will deliver each week.

Thanks for your reply.
He is in a wooden viv so no sides to cover. I've tried wax worms but he just looks at them but I haven't tried roaches so I'll give that a shot. He was in a living room with 4 kids and a dog in his old home so I'll put on a radio.
I have mice in the same room do you...
I bought a 6 month old bearded dragon 1 week ago. I don't know what his treatment has been so far but his previous owner seemed knowledgeable and his set up seemed appropriate. I think he might be suffering from relocation stress. He isn't eating much. He has had about 15 or so crickets in...
