Well how cold is it getting at night? You shouldn't really need a heat pad although it wouldn't hurt. You should be fine for a day without it being really hot but I would get a light asap. Even if you have extra bulbs laying around the house they might produce enough heat.
Last night at like 10 so lights were out I was watching tv and her flare rustling in the cage so me being nice went to cover her up with her little blanket thing. Well she freaked out majorly! Ran past my arm and out the cage I think she felt like something was trying to get her. She was still...
I gave opie a bath and at first he dove his face right into the water to drink it and then was just swifting his body around. It wasn't any deeper than his neck if he were laying on his belly.
He seemed to be scratching at his face after a few? Maybe water in his eye? And I heard one like gasp...
So many different websites with different numbers haha. I'm just going to take the average of them all and assume 100 is a good basking temp. The rocks like 110-115 cool sides are 82-86 depending if my fan is on or not haha.
Because I lifted up my couch and she puffed up at me but I grabbed her anyway haha. She should be fine tomorrow hooked my fan to a timer so it runs from like 12-5 and when I checked the top cage was 95 and 85 but the bottom was like 85-80 so I put a higher watt bulb in the bottom and switched...
Well I was drilling something into the wall near the cage and I had the cage door open because I was just cleaning the vivs and flare was apparently terrified of something. She sprinted out of the cage onto my bed and then under my couch
I had fun retrieving her haha.
Now she's super dark...
I will try and add more vents when I get back into town on Sunday. And go pick up a 50w bulb, is your basking ambient temp that high? Typically my basking spots have been low hundreds with the rock itself in the 110-120 range.
@Luvthemanimal what are your watts on your lights? and how big are your vivs? I just swapped the bottom basking spot to the left side to see if it helps brings the temps down,
the top is a 50w
basking:100
cool side:90
the bottom is 75w
basking:96
cool side:89
maybe switch the bulbs so the...
Well put your hand in there and if he bites you then my guess is he's mad, I don't see any stress marks on his side, was he just in the basking spot? My girl will do that where she basks and then moves to the cool side with her mouth open to cool down. Can he see his reflection at all? That...
I'm not so much worried about the hotness of the basking spot they seem to enjoy themselves over there but Its the cool side i want to try and get a little cooler, the basking might be considered a little to hot but there's different levels they can be on haha
