I've had my dragon for a little over a week. He is 12 inches long. I can't get him to eat his salad at all. He will eat insects if I hand feed them to him (hornworms, reptiworms, and just today he took his first dead insects, cut up silkworms. I have dubia breeding too). He won't eat the salad...
Ha yeah if I had a tokay instead of a beardie it would have been the cat bleeding instead. I really don't have experience with dealing with cats trying to hurt my other pets. When I was a kid I had a cat that would sit in the gerbil tank. They would be crawling all over her and standing on her...
Falkor is looking good this morning and acting like himself. I can't really even see the scratches now. I think I can only see them because I know where they are and I am looking for them. Here are some photos. There are really only a few red lines showing now and the neosporin is still on him...
I'm sitting watching tv when the dog starts barking like crazy. I check to see what is up. I find my dragon with scratches on his back and a drop of blood in his water bowl. The cat had jumped up into his house and scratched him. I grabbed a clean towel and picked him up. He had major black...
They could pinch the tortoise or the tortoise could crush them and hurt or kill them. They actually do have individual personalities, not like the beardies of course, but they do have personalities and are valued in the hermit crab enthusiasts just like we do our reptiles. We feed crickets to...
I am very sorry about the loss of your pets. That must have been awful. And the poor animals to have to suffer through that.
I do agree with you on the "how many passionate caring reptile owners are there" part. Reptiles do seem to be treated differently than the dogs and cats in the terms of...
I love how every picture I see of a tokay they have that big open mouth hateful thing going on. They are still so cute. As for iguana he probably makes a better watch dog than the dog. If a burglar came in and saw him heading towards them, they would run screaming lol. I know he's your baby...
Oh and I do check the temperature on the mercury vapor bulb with a heat gun. Then I raise or lower it for the desired temperature. It is at about 101 on the rock below it.
Falkor's home is this neat pet display thing that they keep the animals in at the pet stores. It has lots of storage underneath. I am still adding items to give him more things to do. Any ideas of what more I should add? There is a log, hammock, swimming pool, food dish, fish tank decorations...
Falkor is my first bearded dragon. I got him yesterday and he already sits on my chest and chills. I was looking for a buddy to keep me company while I worked at the computer. My snakes kept trying to fall off, I can't trust the tortoise not to walk off my lap, and the dog is just too big.
