So our BD Rex is about 16 inches long, he started shedding about 7 days ago. His old skin turned gray and has completely fallen off. Everything but his head. It is still gray and I don't see any signs of it loosening and wanting to come off. We have been giving him a warm spray every morning...
Ok it had us all worried for a while. We have the Reptisun 10.0 UVB mounted on the inside of our tank at the very top (it is 18 inches deep), how close can they get to that bulb?
Our beardie fell asleep tonight almost vertically straight up and down in its hammock with his nose almost touching the screen top. Very bizarre and uncomfortable looking. Curious to see if anyone else's BD has fallen asleep like this or in an uncharacteristic way.
So my wife called them today to tell them that we have have a beardie in the house. They asked us on the morning they treat the house to turn off his lights and wrap the top/screen with cellophane to make sure our beardie does not get exposed to the chemicals. Does that sound right to you guys...

We fixed the problem. Dumped the old set up. It was definitely the MVB. We mounted the Zilla Slimline below the screen and removed the clear casing from the fixture. Added a dome fixture with a 90 w Halogen Flood. He is out of the cool side and basking away. Thanks alot.
Thanks guys here are a few pics of our new home. It is a 36 x 18 x 18 with the POWERSUN MVB 160W sitting above the screen. Off to the pet store to get a new thermometer to get readings. He just stays on the left side (cool side) of his home and does not like the warm and basking spot. He he eats...
Hi - My family is about 4 months in to owning our BD. We had him (Rex) at the vet last week and they wanted us to move him into a bigger aquarium. He is now in a 36x18x18. We use the Zoo Med POWERSUN 160W MVB. The lamp is in the back right corner and is about 4 inches above the screen. Since the...
