It will be 2 months I have had him on the 15th. You're right, maybe there will be problems in the future, but right now he is happy and healthy. His basking spot gets to 100-110 F, and he eats 8 medium crickets morning and night, dusted with a calcium and vitamin powder mix every other day at...

    Altair Growing Up

Here are pictures of Altair, from the first day I got him, until the present: First day home: 5-11-2012: Today: NOTE: Sorry about the date being wrong, my camera left a date stamp on it with the wrong date. =/

    The whole BD family....

Awww, what happened to Cleo that made her blind? I love those pictures though, you have beautiful bearded dragons. <3

What kind of morph is my bearded dragon?

Whatever he is, he's really pretty.

I never said you were dumb, but okay. I guess it's my turn to prove you wrong, because I had him in that 10 gallon terrarium for about a month, and he did just fine. I moved him into a 40 gallon terrarium about a month ago, and he is thriving. He has a Powersun 100 watt UVB lamp, two small UVB...

The roaches were eating squash, but the crickets didn't really eat it I don't think. Neither ate the dry cat food. I've heard tropical fish flakes are good so I'll be using that for my feeders too. Or, I might get the BD pellets instead. Maybe Altair might like them, too. =P I'll also try...

Yes, that is what I am using. The feeders (roaches and crickets) are also being fed the Fluker's calcium water gel, and I'm trying to figure out what else they could eat right now. Is this still not enough? I'll sprinkle calcium on them, too, then, if need be.

    Jetta is not growing?

Oh okay, thanks! Do they sell these at places like Petco? I don't think I saw them when I looked at the lighting section. So they'd fit in the dome fixtures, too, as long as it's in the range of wattage for the domes?

    Geico's Rearranged Crib :P

Beautiful enclosure! He must love it. :D

    Newspaper- yay or nay?

What are people's opinions here on newspaper as a substrate? I feel like it would be easy to clean, and best of all, cheap! But what do you guys think? Are there any downfalls to it? i.e. could the ink be harmful in any way?

    Gagging Beardie?

Thanks! I saw Altair sleeping under his log but I decided to take your advice and turn off the red heat light. This will help me sleep better too, lol. (The tank is next to my bed.) I'll be monitoring the temp to make sure it doesn't drop below 65 F.

    Jetta is not growing?

@Germ: Oh, they don't need the light on at night? Maybe I'll try turning mine off tonight and see if it helps...it's been warm lately so I don't think the room temp will drop below 60 at all. But what should I do when it's during a colder time of the year, like the winter? Would a dark purple...

Thanks for the welcome, everyone! @ThDude: The photos are in that thread, but I've made some changes which are in my last reply. Heating is a 50 watt red heat light (which I will change the dark purple Zilla one as soon as I can to help him sleep), and the UVA/ UBA Repti-sun light that fits...

    Gagging Beardie?

I actually removed the hanging plant that was in the viv in the photo you see above, and replaced it with a taller, "tree" like one that has leaves that are made of some kind of cloth. Too tall for him to reach, and certainly can't be bitten off. I was a little worried he would try to eat it...

Hi everyone. I'm new to this forum, as well as bearded dragons. I bought my first one yesterday, a Sandfire/ German Giant cross named Altair. I'm feeling pretty bad right now because even though he seems healthy, he does have a few issues (the gagging thing, and his one poop has been smelly)...
