Hi! My name is Pamela and I love my beardie, Joey! Never in a million years did I ever think I would own a bearded dragon but Joey is the best. pet. ever!!! I am a huge animal lover and when I was a child, I tried to catch frogs, toads, salamanders, snakes, turtles, etc...but was taught not to keep them and to let them free. As hard as it was NOT to keep them, I tried to abide the best I could...but once in awhile, I couldn't help but keep a few that I caught. I did eventually let them go.
I am so happy to own a bearded dragon! My youngest daughter actually inspired me to buy a bearded dragon. She held one at school and told me it was the coolest thing and we should buy one. So, I went online and self educated myself and became very interested in them. My interest piqued and I decided a bearded dragon would be a great pet. Seven months later, I found my Joey, who is extremelyspoiled and loved. Most of my friends think I am crazy to own a dragon but once they see how gentle and docile he is, they then realize maybe he isn't so bad. I, too, must admit I was a little apprehensive when I first met Joey...after all, they do look like they could be very aggressive. I was lucky to have bought Joey from a previous owner who clearly took exceptional care of him. Joey was previously named Stitch. I fell in love with him right away and purchased him the same day. However, he did not look like a "Stitch" to me and after bringing him home to my family, we all agreed to rename him Joey. He just looks like a Joey.
It will be nice to meet other people who have a love and passion for bearded dragons. I hope to share fun stories and continue to learn more about bearded dragons so I can continue to give my Joey the best care I can possibly give him.
