So, I updated Trabuchet's cage a bit. Replaced the red light with a 100watt day lamp. Added a 50watt CHE for night heat as it gets cold in our house, and gave him a better basking platform. Also have been working on his diet too. On top of all that, he is now part of our ReptiRack. I got a 4'L x...
My bearded dragon is Trebuchet. Pronounced treb-you-shay. It is a French siege engine from medieval times. Thought a DRAGON should have a name like that. And, he is a beast.;)

Yeah. I do that too. I have an assortment of flashlights too though. And for whatever reason, I put the battery back in my therm and it is working fine now. *shrug* No idea why. But I am not going to complain about it.
@Mungi's Buddah - Thanks. I won't bother with the curtain idea then. If there is no light, how do you view your dragon at night? I have a tendency to check on my daughter, wife, then all the animals when I come home from work, just to be sure everything and everyone is all right.
Lol. I can't...
@Germ - Thanks for all the info. As for the moonlight, gonna ditch the idea. I am just nervous about a dark cage where I can't see him. Not sure what I am going to do about the UV light. I know I am going to up it to the 10.0, but not sure about which one I am going to use. The cage design will...
That dial thing is a thermometer and humidity guage. I usually don't go by that one as I had the digital thermo on there, but in a pinch, it is better than nothing.;)
@Mungi's Buddah - What is your take on UV lighting? Where should it be placed? Right now I have a 5.0 reptisun lamp on the tank. It is the 18" T8 and it is in a 20" aquarium hood. It is right next to the heat lamps. I can easily get a spiral UV lamp instead when I get paid, but I saw something...
@Mungi's Buddah - ok, I read everything you typed, and I have more brain picking to do to you yet (hooray for the stuff you don't see in the books) but as I may be a bit long winded, I am going to have to save the questions for when I am at home on my comp (stupid little phone keyboard) so...
Thank you. What are your thoughts on the black heat lamps? Or should I think about heat tape or something? It gets kind of chilly in the room he is in in the winter, so night heat is a must.

Thank you. The only reason the viv is the way it is now is due to time. Now I am back to having some free time so I am going to start changing things up for the better. As for the battery, I am just going to go to a battery store they have by my house and see if they have it. He is doing well...
For sure. I have one of the thermos on there, but the battery died. Need a new one, but I am having trouble finding it. Right now the temps stay pretty stable, but I am going to be putting a lot more thought into the lighting in the new viv. And the new viv will be made out of wood. So, it will...
Thanks all.:)
@Mungi's Buddah - exactly what I am doing. Lol. Just was lazy and figured I would try from my phone first. Also, I love the stairs on Mt. Mungi. I may have to borrow that look when I do my BG. If you don't mind.;)
@Noella - Here ya go.
His whole cage. Don't hate, it needs...
Thank you. I am till researching at the moment for his new home, but I am going to building the whole thing. No more glass tank.
Say hello to Trebuchet. Yes my dragon is named after a medieval siege engine.:p
Thank you for the welcome Buddah. Also, I love Mt. Mungi. Very nice.
