I made that comment weeks ago Germ. Really, who am I getting into a panic? I was using common sense but might have not worded it correctly. I was just emphasizing how I was going to rely on the UVB 10.0 for his UV. I didn't know about "filtered UV bulbs" until I looked it up on another forum for light bulbs. Yes the rock will get dirty and Yes, I plan on cleaning it over and over. I do have more slate and I do have some river rock. The volcanic rock is really not going to stay in that long as I was thinking the same thing. But I'm willing to try it out for a while. Question Germ, what if I Mod Podge the lava rock?

I have never used Modge Podge, but am told it works very well to seal grout, so I see no reason why it wouldn't seal the lava rock. I just feel that you are creating your own headaches with all the holes & crevices, even if sealed, will still be a serious 'PITA' to clean. But it is your time & elbow grease ;) .

Roger on the lights and rock. I will adjust. Didn't mean to throw anyone in a panic. I have updated pics now of Aries, he just arrived. Plus it will show the enclosure as finished for now. Meaning for his age.

Be sure to save a good pic without posting it elsewhere on the Forum & send it into the Pic O' The month Contest :D . Only 2 more days to this month's entry deadline.

OK, so here is the new slate I had cut ($10 for 10 cuts) and installed in Aries enclosure: Tropic Thunder. The slate was bought at Home Depot for $14 (2 boxes of 5= 10 12"x12" tiles):

Aries seems to really enjoy it! Best $24 I spent on the enclosure so far (for decoration).
