I have had Dino a week now and the first day I got him home I noticed when he pooped it was really runny and had a very strong smell so off to my vet we went. Dino was full of Giardia. My vet weighed him and checked him for pinworms which came up negative, he gave him a dose of meds and told me to go home and sterilize his habitat which meant dumping 50 lbs of sand and starting all over so we did what we had to do. Now 3 days after treat Dino's stool is normal and his color is almost back to normal. Its kindof weird but his leggs and tail are orange but his back and head are almost white. He was all orange when he came home. I am thinking he is fixing to finish a shed or atleast I hope so. He is around 4 months old and is 180 grams. We are suppose to take him back to my vet in 2 weeks for a re-check.

Anyways he is a darling boy and I am so glad we caught the Giardia soon enough. My Vet feels with how bad he was infested that he had it for quite a while and then the stress of the move to me flarred the Giardia up. Well here is Dino :)

Thank you Germ. If I post an updated photo could you tell me if my boy is just going through a shed? Its really strange if it is because of the pattern he is doing? He did just shed on his leggs and tail but that is about gone and now after treating him for Giardia his whole body and head has turned ghost white?? Is this a shed? I hope he isn't sick with something else...sigh. I do not see any on his body or head peeling off as of yet so this is why for the concern and that he sits on his basking area with his right eye always closed and the left eye open?

It really sounds like a shed coming on. BDs can either shed almost all at once of in patchy sections, depends if parts of the body are growing\forming more quickly than others. This is normal & nothing to be concerned about. May be able to tell from a clear picture if you care to post one. Here is an example of Demon in a patchy start to a head shed to give you an idea ...

Good Luck.
