Hello,

I am wondering how often I should be giving Pancake bugs for example, daily or every other day etc… He is about 10 months old now if he was 7 months when we got him. He measures 14inches so hes grown 2 inches since. Right now he eats 20 large crickets daily and we rotate 3 super worms and 2 medium sized hornworms every other day. we dust with calcium 5 days a week and dust with calcium D3 2 days a week. He also has salads offered every morning a mix of collard greens, mustard or turnip greens some romaine lettuce. Our local supply store does not sell dubias or silk worms so if anyone has any suggestions on that also would be appreciated

Your doing great --- he needs his insects every day till hes a year old - go to D3 5 x per week and vitamins w/ beta carotene 2 x per week ONCE per feeding on the supplements lightly coated on the insects -- when he turns a year old this will change w/ the diet - is he eating his salads? What kind of UVB are you using? A coil or long tube fixture? this is extremely important especially w/ the calcium being given -- Here are some websites for insects / worms its cheaper to get them on line

we are using the reptisun t5 10.0 24 watt mounted inside his tank. hot side 92 and cool side usually around 78-80 with hunidity at 30-50%. He does eat his salads not all but at least half everyday. I usually give about half a cup in morning and wait on bugs until later in day when hes eaten some of his salad. I heard too much D3 is bad for them? Thats why we only use the calcium with D3 2 days a week. Thank you for the websites!

He is young and growing -- he needs the D3 as posted -- the Reptisun is a good bulb -- please move it off the wall tho - he needs to be able to sit directly under it 12-15 inches -- that UVB is going to help him absorb / synthesize the calcium hes eating --- bugs should be fed every morning - the salad for now is 20% of his diet the 80% is the insects - he needs his protein --- up until he turns a year old then its going to reverse along w/ the calcium- insects 2-3 times per week and D3 once a week w/ the regular calcium w/ NO phosphate 2 times per week -- it is extremely important that they get the D3 when under a year old -

The bulb is not on the wall it is mounted to the top of his tank screen.

After a year old calcium D3 once per week --- regular calcium w/ NO phosphate 2-3 times per week and you can mix the vitamins together w/ the reg calcium-- mix it w/ a 50/50 ratio -- lightly coat the insects --
