I set up a temperature gage for Lily's basking spot and it's higher than what I've heard recommended (110). When left on for a while it gets to about 117-119.

If it's too hot will it harm my bd?

What should I do to cool it down a little bit (if I need to)?

Hi, That is a bit too hot. Too hot can cause a thermal burn and left for long periods with inadequate means of hydration, dehydration.

You can raise the bulb a few inches to see if that is a remedy or you can choose a lower wattage bulb.

How are you measuring temps?
