Toenail fell off

I left about 1:00 this afternoon, when I came back my beardie has pooped in his enclosure so I went to clean it up. His feet were covered in poop so I rinsed him off and that's when I noticed one of his toenails was missing, there wasn't any blood coming from it but the tip of his toe is red. Looking in hjs enclosure, his toenail was in the corner along with a small amount of blood.
He does have a log he could have ripped the nail out on so I took that out just in case. Could it be an illness or something? Should I get him into the vet? They're closed now but I can get him in tommorow morning if he needs to go in.

It looks like he has gotten that caught on something- do you also have a hammock in the tank ? If so I would remove it - or he could have gotten it snagged on the reptile carpet --- get some raw honey and mix a little w/ some warm water and dab it on w/ a Q tip it will kill any infection that might start watch and see if the redness goes away in a few days - DO NOT feed crickets in the tank w/ him they will go straight for that foot and then you will have a issue --- if you have a mesh hammock I would replace it w/ a fleece one if he likes hammocks -- you can get them from www.pamperedbeardies.com

He's kept on tile only and doesn't have a hammock, the only thing I can think of is his log does have a few knots and divots in it he could have got a nail caught in.
